At Plumb Engineering, P.C. our mission is to best serve our Clients by providing outstanding, personal professional engineering services by building on a foundation of teamwork, integrity, dedication and excellence.
We achieve our Mission by listening to our Clients and completing our design to best accommodate their needs while meeting all Code Requirements. The Firm’s designers offer a wealth of experience and approach each project with the same amount of commitment, whether the budget is $15,000 or over $67,000,000. Plumb Engineering, P.C. takes great pride in being a firm that, with proper planning, is flexible enough and geared to work on multiple projects simultaneously providing each with the same care, efficiency and quality.

Our design and consulting experience within the Northeastern United States is exemplary and extensive. Our future is bright and includes expansion efforts to include more of the US and broadening our horizons to embrace the international market.
History
The firm was founded in 1991 by Karen L. Astorga, P.E. and currently employs a staff of 17, including three Licensed Professional Engineers. Additional staff services include specification writing, project management, construction administration and AutoCAD drafting services.
High Standards
Plumb Engineering, P.C. has a proven history of refining our AutoCAD drafting services and standards to meet the highest level of professionalism. Our standards now closely resemble the National Institute of Building Sciences’ National CAD Standard. We are committed to implementing the highest national industry standard to meet clients’ present and future needs.
Clientele
Plumb Engineering, P.C.’s client base is comprised of Local and National Architects and Building Developers along with several NYS Contracting Agencies including the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and the NYS Office of General Services. Through these Agencies, they also perform work for various NYS Client/Owner Agencies such as the Office of Mental Health, Department of Correctional Services, and the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Services include engineering design and construction administration for New and Existing Facilities, Laboratories, Institutional and Correctional Facilities, Offices, Restaurants, Schools, Airports, Health Facilities, and Historic Structures.

Some recent typical design projects are: Renovations to Trinity Building, St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center; Upgrade Elevators NYS Capitol; The Troy Junior Museum; Albany International Airport Terminal and Maintenance Facility; NYS Office of Mental Health Various Statewide Security Projects; Emergency Generation and Electrical Power Distribution (Elmira and Woodbourne Correctional Facilities); Multiple DOT Rest Areas; State Education Department (SED) Code Review.
